Colour Changing Flowers
You will need water, food colours, a cup (preferably a clear plastic one), and a white carnation flowers
- Firstly, you will have to trim the stem of the flower, so it can fit in your cup
- Now add some water to the cup(s)
- put approximately ten to fifteen drops of food coloring in the water and stir around a bit.
- Place a flower into the cup(s)
- Check on your flowers every few hours and look for changes. This process may take a while, so it is important to be patient!
Watch the colour of the flower(s) change according to the food colouring you used!
Skittles Rainbow
You will need a plate, warm water, and skittles (try using different colours to make a rainbow!)
- Organise the Skittles in a circle around the edge of the plate.
- Pour warm water into the middle of the plate, enough to reach the skittles
Watch the skittles move to the middle of the plate, making a rainbow!
Static electricity butterfly
You will need cardboard, tissue paper, cardstock paper, pencil, scissors, googly eyes, balloon, and a glue stick.
- Cut a square out of your cardboard. The best measurement is about 20x20cm.
- Use a pencil to draw butterfly wings on tissue paper and cut them out. Make it a bit smaller than your cardboard square
- Set your butterfly onto the square, but don’t glue it down yet!
- Cut a body for the butterfly from your cardstock, and place in the middle of your wings (the tissue paper), and glue it down, but down glue the tissue paper wings to the cardboard.
- Glue the googly eyes on the butterfly’s body (cardstock)
- Blow up a balloon and hover it over your butterfly.
Watch the wings rise and fall as you move the balloon closer and away from the butterfly!
